Post 38-Quilt Market Quilt #2

This beautiful quilt was also featured in the RJR Fabrics booth at Quilt Market 2014. It is called Parasol. Very fitting, don't you think?

I love the three-dimensional quality of this quilt!


 I did a little research on parasols and tried to stay true to their feminine qualities in the quilting design. I chose a curved scallop design to connect all the points and used feathers and crosshatching to fill the open space of the quilt. However, I also wanted to accentuate the 3-D look to the parasol, so I added some simple angled and wavy lines.

    I know this is way past 2014, but this just showed up on my Pinterest feed. This quilt is absolutely gorgeous! I cannot imagine the work you put into this!! I just had to tell you that I think this is one of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen.

      Marilyn, Thank you!! You made my day! I appreciate your kind words so much! Regardless of whether I quilted a quilt yesterday or 10 years ago, they are all treasures to me and I'm grateful when others see them as treasures too. :)

    Fabulous 3 dimensional feel! And I love the colors. Great the way the dimensionality gives it energy and the colors and flowers are relaxing.
